Hotel Review

By Lauren Yochum- @sporkorlando

Peace and rest are hard to find, but easy to experience at Abadía Retuerta LeDomaine. Located an hour north of Madrid, this unique property has much to offer. After settling in, spend your next few days however you wish – visiting their onsite winery, dining at a Michelin-star restaurant, detoxing in the spa or exploring the medieval city of Valladolid – it’s all at your disposal.

Walking through the halls of Abadía Retuerta, you’ll be transported to another place and time. Founded in the 12th century, the hotel was an abbey in its former life, and has since been pristinely restored to house 30 rooms and countless amenities. History is certainly paired with hospitality as every furnishing, light fixture and work of art is perfectly placed. Although its cliché, it’s the people make Abadía Retuerta truly incredible. Led by general manager, Enrique Valero, the Abadía Retuerta team provides a high-level of anticipatory service that is always perfectly timed.

After the in-room check in, you are greeted with a taste of Abadía Retuerta’s culinary expertise. House-made cheese and crackers are placed for your enjoyment along with a bottle of wine from their acclaimed onsite winery. Their rooms are outfitted with a Nespresso machine and an oversized bathroom containing a double sink vanity, a large bathtub and a double shower. The views of both the courtyard and vineyard make the rooms spectacular. And, technically no two views on the property are exactly alike as nearly every window on the property was custom-made (apparently window sizes were not standard in the 12th Century).

Access their immaculate spa and enjoy a relaxing massage along with expansive areas to unwind. Consult with your personal “spa sommelier” to customize your experience and enjoy various Abadía Retuerta wine. The LeDomaine Spa is separated into two different areas for men and women, each equipped with a Finnish sauna, steam bath, whirlpool, relaxation room and aromatic showers of mango, pine and mint. The meeting point for couples is a heated indoor pool filled with a serene waterfall and sunshine from the large skylight. Schedule a visit the LeDomaine Spa, it’s an excellent escape.

Enjoy four gastronomic experiences in four exceptional settings. At Vinoteca, their more casual restaurant, don’t miss the 40-day dry-aged rib-eye with glass peppers and fries. Pair with Abadía Retuerta Selección Especial, a blend of Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah coming just steps away from their onsite winery. Open for lunch and dinner, this restaurant is worth visiting multiple times during your stay. The crown jewel of the dining scene, Refectorio, is a Michelin-star restaurant using contemporary and creative techniques. You’ll experience course after course of gastronomy greatness as each element arrives in perfect timing. Don’t miss the baby lamb, a succulent regional specialty. Order a bottle from one of their original vintages for an exceptional pairing to your evening. This restaurant is full of surprises and embodies what all Michelin-star restaurants should aspire to imitate.

Plan a visit to their onsite award-winning winery, Abadía Retuerta. In a region known for Tempranillo, they are also making a rare white wine. Made from Sauvignon Blanc grapes from vines planted 20 years ago, this wine is enriched with a touch of Verdejo and other white wine varieties. Every wine that is produced here is quality, fun to taste and fully expresses the characteristics of the region. More than Tempranillo, make time during your stay for a visit to this standout winery.

While there’s plenty to occupy your time onsite, consider taking a few hours to visit nearby Valladolid – Spain’s former capital. The hotel will happily arrange a guided tour of the city where longtime residents will take you through the history, architecture and tapas tour. You’ll feel like a local and fall in love with this neighboring town. Consider visiting Toro, a wine region known for its big and powerful wines. About an hour from the hotel, it’s worth a trip to visit wineries such as San Román in a wine region not yet overrun by tourists.

A true respite just an hour north of Madrid, at Abadía Retuerta LeDomaine, you’ll arrive as a stranger, but depart as a friend.

About the Resort

In 1145, the marriage of aristrocracy and piety brought about the abbey when the Lord of Valladolid's daughter Doña Mayor donated "terras et vineas" to the church. Abadía Santa Maria de Retuerta was built for the Premonstratensian Order. Baroque-Romanesque in style, it has a classic Benedictine layout of church, cloister, refectory, chapterhouse and hospedería. It is one of only two such abbeys to have survived the destruction wrought by Napoleon and is a treasured Spanish cultural heritage site.

The recent abbey renovation respects the integrity of 1000 years of history. The original monastic uses of rooms were maintained, the Romanesque-Baroque architecture conserved, not altered. Opulent new furnishings, lighting and climate control make modern guests feel at home without compromise to the ancient site. "To alter this ancient edifice was to engage in a 1.000 year-old architectural dialogue. The judicious restraint of my intervention is my homage to those who spoke before me." – Marco Serra, Master Architect.

LUXWT Prime Review

By Maria Paradisis

Imagine a place where mountain, jungle and beach come together and luxury lies at the center. Now tell your imagination it’s a reality, and you’ve discovered the Amankila Resort.

Amankila translates as ‘Peaceful Hill’ and you couldn’t find a truer name. Overlooking the beautiful Lombok Strait and presided over by the 3142-metre Gunung Agung (Mother Mountain), the resort offers a serenely personal and pampered experience like none other.

I know I’m in for a special stay as soon as I enter the front gate. A stillness descends and I am in awe while driving through the grounds via a steep hill filled with lush greenery and glimpses of the deep-blue Lombok Strait.

Even though it’s my first time here, in a funny way it feels like coming home. And this is what Adrian Zecha, founder of Aman Resorts, seeks to create. “I want people to feel as if they are in the home of a dear friend,” he explains. And his plan is working. Aman Resorts remain intimate (the average resort is 35 rooms) and dedicated to a simple elegance. Zecha wants his guests’ first impression to be that of a warm, unpretentious welcome.

The buggy that is the resort’s main transport takes me to my Pool Suite and I officially check in to paradise. My room is traditional Balinese style and features complimentary wifi, water, vegetable crackers, chocolate and oat cookies, of which I ate too many. But then indulgence is encouraged here.

The suite’s pool is enclosed within a large, walled courtyard to ensure privacy and the outdoor area features a desk, daybed and two sunbeds. If you love the sound of waves crashing, request a room close to the ocean. Every night, on your bed you will find a bedtime story (and treat) that talks about traditional Balinese rituals and traditions.

The customer service, staying true to the cultural and natural environment the resort is built in, is what sets the Aman experience apart. The staff-to-guest ratio is high and staff are caring. They discreetly attend to your room a minimum 3 times per day. Approximately 90% of staff have been there since Amankila opened 23 years ago. That goes to say a lot about the company and this resort in particular.

The remarkable three-tiered signature pool is a main attraction, where water flows from one into the other. It was inspired by the Royal Water Palace of Ujung (located approximately 5kms from Amlapura, the capital of Bali’s Karangasem Regency) and designed to resemble rice paddies. One of the great pleasures during my stay was listening to the sweet sound of the many beautiful birds here, singing and chirping then flying by the pool for a quick dip and playing a game of chase with the butterflies.

There is also a 41-metre lap pool at the resort’s beach club where you can either relax in bales (cabanas) or take advantage of the beach activities on offer, such as canoes, kayaks, paddle boards, hobie cats and boogie boards.

I spent a day on the resort’s wonderful Aman XVI (designed after the jukung, a traditional Balinese fishing craft) 40-foot vessel, snorkelling the magical blue lagoon, a great experience and one I highly recommend. The various colourful fish not only swim under you, but by your side and right behind you.

If water sports are not your preference, there are plenty of other activities to keep you entertained, such as cycling, trekking, climbing, cooking classes, tours and visiting temples. Holistic programs are on offer too, from hypnotherapy and transformational coaching to yoga, pilates, fitness workouts and tennis. I took a yoga class with yoga and pilates guru Chae Hirano, who will be at Amankila for the next three months. On top of her teachings, Chae mingles with guests throughout the day to answer any questions they may have and to ensure their stay is a good one. It adds a charming personal touch.

And when it comes to luxury stays, nothing gets more personal than the dining choices on offer. At Amankila, the food is sensational. Executive chef Shane Lewis has created a wide variety of delicious dishes for the various menus throughout the hotel, as well as plenty of dining experiences, from private dinner on the beach or a candle-lit poolside bale dinner to a satay evening in a local village 15 minutes away. My standout meals included the Middle Eastern Breakfast (consisting of labnah, zaatar, cucumber, mint, tomatoes and grilled sourdough), Moroccan doughnuts with spiced custard and espresso cream, and Babi Guling, crisp roast suckling pig with Balinese sambal.

Amankila offers 34 free-standing suites in 3 different categories (Garden Suites, Ocean Suites and Pool Suites). In addition, there is the Kilasari Suite (featuring a 12-metre infinity pool), Indrakila Suite (featuring a lounging bale and private pool) and Amankila Suite (2 separate bedrooms, 2 bales, private pool and butler service).

During my stay, I got talking to some Aman junkies, repeat visitors who love it so much they stay at Aman Resorts around the world. All said their favourite is Amankila. I can understand the loyalty to this luxury Balinese ‘home’ – even though I have just left, I cannot wait to return.

About the Hotel

Amankila (which means peaceful hill) set on a cliffside overlooking the Lombok Strait in East Bali. Below the resort is its private stretch of sand and beach club. From the intimate, airy lobby, the views are already very much in evidence. The resort is close to Manggis, Candi Dasa, Tenganan and other villages in Karangasem, Bali’s most traditional regency.
Amankila’s suites are elevated to take advantage of the spectacular views to the sea and surrounding hillsides. The 34 free-standing suites, with their alang alang roof thatching, are fashioned as beach houses with a twist. They reflect the lines and flow of their East Bali surroundings, in particular the royal water palace just outside Amlapura, the district’s capital. All suites are connected to the reception and restaurant area by stepped walkways. Many suites feature private swimming pools.

SPA

Drawing on the energy of east Bali, the Spa’s therapies aim for complete relaxation and presence in the moment. Natural ingredients are used in traditional Balinese baths, scrubs and wraps – available in the privacy of guest Suites, the massage pavilion, a beach bale or secluded open-air spot with tropical canopy

BEST OF THE BEST

Set on a verdant hillside next to a cliff and overlooking East Bali's Lombok Strait, Amankila is welcoming in every respect. From your freestanding suite, connected to the resort's public areas and restaurants by stepped walkways, to the Beach Club, where watersports are available, you'll feel at home — yet so very far removed from your workaday life. Water lovers adore the two resort outriggers, designed to emulate traditional Balinese fishing craft — cruises are offered daily. Visit two of the island's most important temples, Lempuyang and Besakih, the former of which is considered one of Bali's “six temples of the heavens.”

LUXWT Review

When traveling to Rome, finding a place that you can come back to and relax after a long day of walking and sightseeing is a must. The Aleph Hotel is one of the newer luxury hotels in Rome, but we did not come across any mishaps or inconveniences. They went above and beyond!

Converted into a luxury hotel from a bank, the Aleph hotel is a part of the Curio Collection by Hilton. The staff are top notch, and you can find yourself gazing at the architecture and interior design of the newly renovated hotel.

When we arrived, checkin was seamless, and our bags were taken up to our room happily by the bellhop. We had a Prestige King Room with a Terrace, and it was fantastic. We were greeted with decadent chocolates and a fruit basket. The room had the comfiest King bed, a pillow menu, USB charger outlets, and complimentary mini bar drinks. The only thing I thought was missing in the room were some comfy spa robes.

When you plan to stay at this hotel, I highly recommend getting a room with a terrace. It is very large, might even be bigger than the room, and has two loungers, a couch, and a swinging bed. It is no surprise that when you come to Rome, you will pretty much walk everywhere. So, coming back to your hotel room and having a glass of wine on the terrace at night is what sets this hotel apart.

The location of the Aleph is very ideal, as it close to most of the major attractions: Trevi, Piazza Navona, The Spanish Steps etc. The Colosseum is about a 30 minute walk. It is also very close to Villa Borghese and the beautiful gardens. If you don’t want to walk all over, it is also close to the metro, maybe 3 minute walk.

What I really liked about this hotel is there is a rooftop pool and lounge area. Not many hotels in Rome have pools and this one is perfect for relaxing mid-day in the hot sun before fun evening excursions around town. They also have a hotel restaurant near the rooftop pool which had wonderful food. I recommend the pasta dishes, and the delicious prosecco!

Overall, the Aleph is a great choice for a luxurious and relaxing trip to Roma!

LUXWT Prime Review

By Chin Moylad @chinmoylad

Amanpulo is set on a private island in the much feted Palawan district of Philippines. Guests are picked up at Manila Airport via the private twin-propeller plane and whisked away to Pamalican Island, which has its own runway.

The star here is the beach, which circumnavigates the 2km x 500m island. High silica content makes the sand sugar white, and soft as flour. 29 of the resort’s 40 casitas, designed after traditional Filipino houses, are set along the southwest beach offering private beach frontage, while towards the center of the island lie treetop casitas, hillside casitas, deluxe hillside casitas and treetop pool casitas, some of which offer expansive views over the lush vegetation. Along the edges of the island also lie privately owned villas with 1, 2 and 4-bedroom options, all with private pools, also available for larger parties.

Being an island paradise, there are plenty of water-related activities. Non-motorized water-sports such as kayaking and hobie cat are provided complimentary via rentals, but it is highly recommended to try out the snorkeling and diving through Amanpulo’s tours, offering a chance to swim with giant sea turtles, black-tip reef sharks and a smorgasbord of fish.

Common areas also include two clubhouses, each with an expansive lap-pool, a library, a boutique, the spa and gym, as well as a kids’ club, and several dining options. The Beach Club offers light tapas and Mediterranean fare; the Lagoon Club offers Western-grill options; the Restaurant offers Southeast Asian flavors courtesy of Philippines, as well as light Western cuisine.

With attentive, thoughtful service served with a smile, the resort is equally as tempting for romantic getaways, friend and group gatherings, as well as families with children.

About the Hotel

Amanpulo (which means “peaceful island”) is set on a secluded, private island. Pamalican is part of the Quiniluban group, which makes up the northern half of the Cuyo Islands and is one of nearly 1,800 islands in Palawan, the largest province in the Philippines. A low-lying coral island, Pamalican is rimmed by seven square kilometres of pristine reef.

The resort’s 42 casitas (65-square-metre cottages in hillside and beachfront settings) are modelled after the Philippine bahay kubo (native dwelling). Inside, decorative details pay homage to neighboring islands: pebble-washed walls, coconut-shell tables, rustic Palawan rice and knife baskets, a king-size bed with a rattan headboard and sliding-glass doors that reveal outdoor decks with his-and-her divans. Nearly half the space in a casita is given over to a Cebu-marble bathroom, with twin vanities, separate changing areas, a shower and an elegant bathtub. All rooms have satellite TV and Bowers and Wilkins Airplay speakers, DVDs can be supplied upon request.Aman Villas - For guests in need of something even more exclusive, there are 12 private villas on the island.

SPA

Amanpulo is a place of peace, where relaxation and wellness go hand in hand. The large spa is set on a hillside above the treetops with far-reaching views to the turquoise waters surrounding Pamalican Island. Designed as a tranquil sanctuary, the connected pavilions are made from native wood with seashell-lined ceilings and are interspersed with outdoor relaxation salas.

BEST OF THE BEST

Simply sublime is the view from Amanpulo, set on a serene private island — in fact, the name Amanpulo means “peaceful island.” Lovebirds flock here for the remote feel and the lavish (yet discreet) service, hallmarks of an outstanding romantic retreat. There are 42 casitas (beach, hillside and treetop), each with a spacious wooden deck with lounge chairs, a raised Cebu marble bathtub and an iPod docking station. For the best views, ask for the deluxe hillside casita in full view of the Sulu Sea. Feeling active? The surrounding seas and fish-filled reef are a snorkeler's and diver's dream.

LUXWT Review

By: Lauren Yochum ( @sporkwine )

The walls are lined with pieces of history, the lobby is buzzing with dignitaries and the décor (much like the people) are perfectly appointed. Situated on a prominent corner in DC mere blocks from The White House you’ll find The Jefferson. A hotel steeped in tradition dating back to 1923, today the space infuses modern day elegance and convenience into the stately Beaux Arts structure. The result is both distinctly European and Washingtonian, featuring the rich, historical influences of the hotel’s namesake, Thomas Jefferson.

You’ll be greeted by a friendly and organized staff ready to make your stay exceptional. This includes a knowledgeable concierge team that is always ready to assist with dining options, museum recommendations and more. The spacious and immaculate rooms provide the opportunity to relax after a day of business or sightseeing.

At Plume, the only restaurant in DC to be awarded both a Michelin Star and a Forbes Five Star rating, you’ll find the perfect fusion of traditional and modern. Jefferson was said to be an avid wine enthusiast and the wine program is certainly a reflection of his passion. The core of their list is based upon what Thomas Jefferson drank in his time and what he might drink if he were still alive today. Within the list you’ll find over 50 different vintages of wine from the world’s most renowned regions. By day the space transitions to The Greenhouse and offers and equally impressive breakfast and lunch. If your dining plans take you out of the hotel, make a stop at Quill before dinner. Sip cocktails or a glass of champagne at the stunning glass bar or underneath wine maps from Jefferson’s personal collection.

Jefferson once said “It is wonderful how much may be done if we are always doing.” When you are done doing all that needs to be done in DC, you’ll find the perfect respite at The Jefferson.

Best of the Best, Awards & Accolades:

Hotel Highlights:

  • Lobby features historic documents bearing Jefferson’s signature.

  • Discover a library with a collection of books signed by famous authors that previously stayed at the hotel.

  • Take your seat at the nation’s only glass bar at Quill.

  • Order from a wine list inspired by Jefferson’s passion and enjoy while studying maps of wine regions from his personal collection.

  • Conveniently located blocks from major sites and museums including The White House and National Mall.

HOTEL

Enjoying a well-earned reputation as Washington, D.C.’s best boutique hotel, The Jefferson has presided over the corner of 16th and M Streets since 1923, when the Beaux Arts gem opened as an apartment complex and later as a hotel for the world’s elite travelers and DC’s most important visitors.

Rich in historical details, this downtown Washington, D.C. hotel (four blocks from the White House) is both European and Washingtonian in style. Tributes to its namesake Thomas Jefferson and his beloved Monticello are found throughout. Areas of discovery unfold at every turn; private nooks, original Jefferson-signed documents, a Book Room filled with leather-bound volumes on Jefferson’s favorite subjects and signed editions by contemporary authors who have been among the hotel's distinguished guests.

Every member of the staff is dedicated to ensuring that each guest's stay is most enjoyable. The moment they arrive, guests are ushered to a comfortable chair for check-in. Individual needs are accommodated as when staying with a close friend at a private residence.

BEST OF THE BEST

In homage to its namesake president, The Jefferson stands as the beaux arts belle of the United States capital. Detailed crown moldings, fine woodwork and frescoes of Monticello are found throughout, as are period antiques and Thomas Jefferson–signed documents. The 99-guestroom hotel features high-tech touches such as Smart TVs and in-mirror bathroom televisions. The restaurant Plume, having received five stars from Forbes and its first Michelin star, ranks among D.C.'s finest.

LUXWT Prime Review

By Haley Plotkin @readysetjetset

The Library Hotel is a, you guessed it, library book-themed boutique hotel located in New York City right by Grand Central Station and the New York Public Library. The hotel contains 10 floors of 60 rooms, all of which are themed to the Dewey Decimal Classification. For example, I stayed on the 5th floor, which represents the Sciences under the 500s. Some other themed rooms in the hotel include 800.001 Erotic Literature (for you “50 Shades of Grey” fans), 500.005 Dinosaurs, 800.005 Fairy Tales, 400.001 Slavic Languages, and 900.005 Geography & Travel. In addition, each room contains numerous books and decorations that fit the theme, with the entire hotel containing over 6000 books.

I stayed in room 300.005, dubbed “The Money Room,” representing the Money section under the Dewey Decimal System. The bookshelves in my room were stocked with all sorts of money and economic-themed reading material, with titles like “The Art of the Market” and photos on the wall like that of George Washington on the dollar bill.  One of my favorite decorations in the room was the long pillow embroidered with the quote “Book Lovers Never Go to Bed Alone.”

When you stay at the Library Hotel, amenities include complimentary wi-fi, continental breakfast, evening wine and cheese receptions, refreshments in the Reading Room, and turndown service with Belgian chocolates and bottles water. I loved eating my breakfast each morning in the Reading Room, looking out the window at New York City and surrounded by books all around the room. Overall though, my favorite part of the hotel was probably the rooftop bar, aptly titled Bookmarks. The bar contains an outdoor section, with small trees and potted plants adding some greenery to the cityscape view. The indoor section looks like a greenhouse, and is perfect for those cold New York winter nights while still providing you with a city view. I loved it so much that the second morning of my stay, I took my breakfast up there and drank tea on the porch, enjoying the peace and quiet amongst the chaos of the city. If you’re a book lover, the Library Hotel cannot be missed, and there’s a room there for fans of any genre.

About the Hotel

The Library Hotel boasts over 6000 hand-selected books organized by the Dewey Decimal System. With a very central midtown Manhattan location, the hotel is within walking distance of The New York Public Library, Grand Central Terminal, The Empire State Building and Times Square, to name just a few. Take advantage of The Library Hotel Collection’s signature Continental Breakfast Buffet and evening wine and cheese reception in our Reading Room. Cappuccino, water, fruit, cookies and pastries are available in this space for our guests 24 hours a day. Also included with your reservation is complimentary WiFi and passes to the nearby New York Sports Club. Visit our indoor and outdoor rooftop, Bookmark’s Lounge, for literary themed cocktails and small plates.

The Reading Room

The Library Hotel’s Reading Room, located on the second floor, is available to guests 24 hours a day offering magnificent views of Madison Avenue and Library Way and featuring hundreds of books, with a selection of complimentary teas, coffee, cappuccino, espresso, cafe au lait, cookies and fruits always readily available.

Unwind with a book or socialize with fellow guests, the Reading Room is your own personal sanctuary from the bustling city streets.

Madison & Vine Restaurant

Madison & Vine, the hotel’s American Bistro and International Wine Bar serves breakfast, lunch, dinner and weekend brunch. Casually elegant, it’s one of the neighborhood’s most popular spots to enjoy a quick bite and a glass of wine or an exquisite meal.

LUXWT Review

By @voyagerguru

When I reflect on our stay at Milaidhoo, the only thing that pops into my mind is the word: perfection. I cannot recall the last time I stayed at a hotel and literally everything went right. From the service, to the room quality, to the sunsets, every moment and every experience (no matter how insignificant) was absolute perfection. Milaidhoo’s entire ethos is built on the idea of barefoot luxury and giving guests the privacy and freedom to do exactly what they want and when. This is even to the point of having no closing time for the bar or other outlets. When asked, the staff told me “the bar closes when the last guest leaves”. I am not sure luxury and guest experience can get any more guest-centric than that. While the price tag can seem daunting from room rates to incidentals, the experience does not disappoint. Read on to find out what we loved.

Location: 5/5

To be honest, you’ll be hard-pressed to find a hotel that’s not in a stellar location in the Maldives. This beautiful, tiny island is nestled within Baa Atoll, northwest of Male and is surrounded by an incredible, blue lagoon. It’s situated on a well-known dive site that is famous for its fish, turtles, and beautiful reef walls.

The property is a 30-minute seaplane ride from Male and the property will arrange the transfers for you according to flight times. They use Transmaldivian air, which connects the majority of the hotels in the Maldives. Starting early next year, the property will be running their own seaplane transfers, granting them greater flexibility and a better guest experience all around. We’re very excited about this new development, as it represents even more control of the guest experience from beginning to end.

Lobby & Check in experience: 5/5

We were picked up after landing at Male airport from our international flight by a friendly Milaidhoo representative. She took us to get checked into our seaplane flight and we were promptly escorted to the Milaidhoo private seaplane lounge. It was amazing to have someone manage the entire process for us, from getting our luggage, to moving us in a private, delicious-smelling, car to their seaplane lounge.

The lounge had snacks, coffee, juices, water and comfortable furniture while we waited for our seaplane. While we were in the lounge, our representative checked us into the hotel and took care of all arrival arrangements. Our seaplane had arrived early so we only waited about 35 minutes in the lounge. Our representative took us to the plane and told us to expect a 35 minute ride to the property. We were told we were stopping by Soneva Fushi on the way and to get off on the second stop. The whole process was very easy and clearly explained to us (which we really didn’t appreciate nearly enough, until later when we had a much less positive experience with a different hotel).

Upon arrival at the dock near Milaidhoo, we were greeted by a large yacht and transferred the short 5-minute boat ride to the property. As with many hotels in the Maldives, Milaidhoo’s seaplane dock is situated away from the hotel so as not to disturb the guests on property – a thoughtful and amazing touch.

Rooms: 5/5

To say our Water Pool Villa was spectacular would be an understatement. The room was absolutely mind-blowing, with its 54 sq meter (581 sq ft) bedroom, 20 sq meter (215 sq ft) bathroom and 42 sq meter (450 sq ft) pool. I had never even fathomed the immense size of this beautiful villa on stilts over the Indian Ocean. Even though it was such a large room, it felt overwhelmingly cozy and personal. Every piece of furniture was custom built by traditional Maldivian carpenters on the island and the linens felt so soft that you couldn’t imagine ever getting out of bed, even to take a dip in your private pool on the 129 sq meter (1400 sq ft) terrace.

Every detail of the room was so well-considered. The beautiful bed facing the spectacular sunrise was only the beginning. Every wall in the villa opened up to the outside, molding the massive terrace and bedroom/bathroom into each other. This was truly ‘outdoor’ living at its finest.

Facilities: 5/5

Whatever you want from your peaceful island vacation, Milaidhoo has it. From a stunning overwater spa to endless dining options with views of the Indian Ocean, there is so much to experience here.

Each guest is assigned an Island Host (aka Butler) that assists you with anything from dining recommendations, activities, seaplane transfers, etc.

While we did not try the spa this time, it looked stunning and I have no doubt they have excellent services.

There is also a full gym that includes a “playroom” style living room that has a pool table.

HOTEL

Opened in November 2016, Milaidhoo Island Maldives is a boutique luxury resort in the Baa Atoll UNESCO biosphere reserve, close to Hanifaru Bay, 126km north west of Male. It's perfect for nature lovers as its own coral reef, which completely circles the island, is a protected area and noted as an outstanding snorkelling and diving site in its own right. The tiny beautiful island, abundant with tropical greenery, measures just 300 mby 180m and is fringed by white soft deep sand beaches. Designed for couples and honeymooners, Milaidhoo welcomes guests aged nine and above. Offering barefoot informality, each of the 50 spacious air-conditioned villas has its own private freshwater pool on the sundeck and opens up 180 degrees to allow the natural beauty of the island into the villa.

Clever design ensures all villas have ocean views. The custom-made furnishings and thoughtful designs are Maldivian inspired, from natural wooden floor to the thatched roof all made by master craftsmen specifically for Milaidhoo. An island host is on hand to ensure every detail of the stay is perfect, from arranging spa appointments and excursions to ensuring the private wine fridge in the villa is stocked with the guest's personal favourites. The room rate includes breakfast as well as wi-fi, laundry, kayaking, use of snorkelling equipment and in-villa treats such as a bottle of champagne and tropical fruit basket on arrival as well as a daily evening turn-down with a gourmet gift from chef. The three restaurants and two bars are designed to appeal to the senses, offering outstanding dining in wonderfully informal settings. No shoes are required. Ever.

Food lovers will enjoy the Milaidhoo Gourmet Plan, which is a dine-around meal plan offering daily breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as international and premium brands of spirits, beers and cocktails from a selection as well as fresh juices, soft drinks, mineral water, teas, coffees, milkshakes and smoothies and a premium selection of wines, hand-picked by the sommelier all day long. The over-water spa has four treatment suites and complimentary yoga and meditation classes take place in the open air over-water pavillion.

For romantics, Milaidhoo is the perfect choice: from candlelit dinners to scented baths, from flower petal bedecked beds to the perfect place to say "I do'. Sports activities include sailing, catamarans, kayaks, a 24-hour gym, yacht trips, dolphin cruises, whale shark spotting, manta ray watching, conservation activities with the resident marine biologist, fishing, diving, snorkelling, and an open-air infinity pool. Milaidhoo is reached by a scenic 35-minute seaplane ride from Male International Airport. Airport transfers are provided by the hotel at an extra charge. The transfer process is smooth and easy with the resort's representative meeting each guest at the airport and guiding them to the private lounge where they can rest and recharge to await their transfer.

LUXWT Review

Arriving to the historic Jefferson Hotel in the heart of Richmond is a true luxury. Built in the late 1800’s, this hotel has a certain vibe that makes you want to know more about its history and evolution. Walking into the opulent lobby, we were instantly greeted by hotel staff and checked in quick and seamless. We were then taken to our Grand Premier Room.

The room was absolutely lovely, equipped with two comfy queen beds, a walk-in closet, and ultra luxurious bathroom. The hotel even provided us with a guest basket full of goodies and treats, what a nice touch! The bathroom was very large, and had a walk in shower and a soaker tub. Also, the marble touches to the bathroom added an amazing level of comfort and luxury.

Nothing was too much to ask from the concierge. We called down for a steamer and they instantly brought it up. Later that evening, we asked for bath salts and they brought up a whole bag full. The service of this hotel made the stay that much more enjoyable.

We were able to enjoy a beautiful brunch at the Lemaire Restaurant in the hotel. The grand ballroom was filled with chandeliers and beautiful tapestry. The food was excellent and the service was even better.

If you ever find yourself in the historic city of Richmond, our team definitely recommends you book a stay at the Jefferson!

LUXWT Review

Situated on the Potomac River, The Mandarin Oriental, D.C. has a classic luxury feel, amazing amenities and views. We arrived and were instantly greeted by the bellhop as he offered to take our bags and introduce us to the front desk. Check-in was quick and seamless, and I could tell the staff were next level.

Our room was on the eighth floor, which is also the club level. All club level rooms have access to breakfast daily, snacks throughout the day, and appetizers and drinks every evening. I thought this was an exceptional service for those who like the convenience and ultimate hotel stay. We arrived in our room and its luxurious aspects were seen throughout. Beautiful marble bathroom equipped with a huge tub and shower. Plush bathrobes and slippers available for guests to use. The room had a massive Samsung TV, and all of the smart capabilities for extra convenience, such as touch screens for all lights, a handheld phone, and outlets located right next to each bed. The cherry on top of this room was the incredible view. The wide windows went from ceiling to floor with views of the river and plane take offs from the airport nearby. Overall, the rooms at this hotel are ultra luxurious, and make for an incredible and comfortable experience as a home away from home.

We were able to get a tour of the property and it is a very large hotel, but it has comfortable feel where the amenities are placed in just the right position for guests to use at convenience. There is an onsite pool with just the right temperature, perfect for families or couples to enjoy after a long day of sightseeing. Each weekend, the hotel offers a high tea in the Empress Lounge and garden area, where guests can experience complimentary coffee, tea and assorted pastries, an excellent touch!

Overall, the Mandarin Oriental is a great choice for anyone looking to be close to D.C. attractions, have luxury amenities, and wanting to explore the booming restaurant scene in the city. A great feature of this hotel is the complimentary Mercedes they allow guests to utilize each day. You can ask to be taken anywhere within a two mile radius of the hotel. This is another example of the luxury amenities provided at this hotel, especially for guests who want to see the city or get to restaurants without having to walk or pay for transport. Another addition is the complimentary car they offer to the Wharf District, D.C.’s hot new riverfront restaurant and shopping scene. Just a 5 minute drive from the hotel, you can be taken there to experience rooftop dining, river walk views, boat rides, and entertainment. It is truly a must visit.

We want to thank the Mandarin for an unforgettable stay, we will be back!

HOTEL

Explore eleven of the Smithsonian museums, all within walking distance, along with numerous monuments and memorials. Visit the Tidal Basin for cherry blossom viewing and sightseeing and District Wharf for dining, concerts, shopping and water sports, accessible from the hotel’s footbridge. Arrive at Mandarin Oriental, Washington D.C., and you know you have arrived somewhere special. The lobby is inspired by the work of John Russell Pope, designer of the Jefferson Memorial, and boasts the familiar domed ceiling and column placement of the neighboring memorial. This urban oasis offers expansive Jefferson Memorial and Washington Monument views that are unmatched by any other luxury hotel in the Nation’s Capital. LUXWT Prime Review

Much of the Maldives is heavenly, but Six Senses Laamu, in the Laamu Atoll far south from the capital of Male is veritable luxury heaven. The intimate resort, with its 97 villas of various types ranging from beach and overwater, with and sans pool, offers the very best of the Maldives. All villas are generously spacious, and are furnished in the signature Six Senses style: rustic, bare and neutral, and yet contrastingly luxurious, chic and colourful.

The two-level beach villas, with an upper viewing deck, start at 220 sqm, and ensure privacy through well-placed foliage, leading beyond the villa to a private beach frontage with crystal clear azure waters and strands of coral.

At the villas, the outdoor bathrooms are a stand-out feature, featuring a large stone soaking tub (or clear glass tub with glass beneath if you are in the overwater villas), and two sets of outdoor showers with a combination of rain and handheld shower.

The Six Senses Spa is woven into its surroundings, literally, with the individual treatment nests created from fallen tree parts and nestled within the island’s vegetation, but some have a peek of the most beautiful sea view.

Six dining options, including an ice and chocolate studio, offer plenty of variety from fine dining to light Vietnamese snacks – with the highlight being the modern Japanese restaurant Zen offering the freshest of seafood.

The reef around the island is fantastic for snorkeling and diving, and marine life lovers will enjoy the variety of life on offer: a pod of dolphins makes regular visits, swimming across the shores of the island.

The Guest Experience Makers, who help plan out the itinerary for your stay and follow through, promise a wonderful stay and deliver that and more. Service at this acclaimed resort is of the highest standard, from your Guest Experience Maker to the person manning the ice cream bar, everyone is at hand to help out and make sure you enjoy your stay.

About the Resort

For those who prefer to horde their slice of heaven, Six Senses Laamu provides the ideal hedonistic escape. The only resort in the Maldives’ southern Laamu Atoll, this eco-friendly hideaway is a surfer’s haven with Yin Yang — the archipelago’s most famous wave — breaking just offshore. Gentler water play can be found along the pristine reef, home to dolphins and exotic marine life. The 97 rustically stylish villas, scattered about the beach and over the lagoon, feature upper decks to fully appreciate the panorama. Cocoon yourself in a treatment nest at the holistic Six Senses Spa.

The beautiful, Palazzo style St. Regis Hotel rests in the historic district of Washington, D.C. The location is ideal for eager travelers looking to sightsee and take in all of the history and uniqueness of the city.

Welcomed with a champagne toast, The St. Regis champagne sabering is a ritual taking place at St. Regis Hotels throughout the world. The tradition started by founder, John Jacob Astor IV to commence the transition from afternoon to evening and welcome in the dinner hour. Sabering a bottle of champagne was inspired by his war hero, Napoleon, who was known for bringing champagne to war and sabering it open regardless of victory or defeat.

After champagne hour and a smooth check-in, an exquisite fifth floor suite became home. Fresh smells, bright and crisp views of the city flow through the room. The bedroom is spacious and inviting, the bathroom is stocked with all of the necessities, plenty of towels, and complimentary robes. The aesthetic of the room is relaxing and calming with subtle touches of history and elegant artwork.

After exploring the city, it was truly wonderful returning to The St. Regis. Despite the hustle and bustle of the city, The St. Regis seems unmoved by it and the ability to unwind and repose was effortless. A complimentary bottle of champagne and a platter of fresh berries and ornate chocolates were set out, a sweet, personal touch.

Brunch at The St. Regis’ restaurant, Alhambra was exceptional. The Traditional Eggs Benedict is somehow both savory, yet fresh and The French Toast features a delicious apple and cinnamon compote that doesn’t leave a heavy and full, post brunch feeling.

One could say it would be a crime to not indulge in one of The St. Regis’ Bloody Mary’s, since it is the signature cocktail of their brand. The Capital Mary veers from a traditional one with gin as its base and flavors that pull you towards the sea. Garnished with a jumbo shrimp, fresh lemon, celery, and olives, The Capital Mary is worth trying.

Aside from the rich history and sophistication of The St. Regis, the attention to detail from the hotel staff is impeccable. Thank you for a truly memorable stay.

BEST OF THE BEST

Champagne Sabering

Napoleon Bonaparte once proclaimed, “I drink Champagne when I win, to celebrate…and I drink Champagne when I lose, to console myself.” St. Regis has long shared Bonaparte’s passion for the iconic beverage, served with grandeur during one of our most cherished rituals: the signature St. Regis Champagne sabering ceremony. We invite you to join us every evening in the lobby at 6 p.m. for a special Champagne toast to celebrate the transition from day to evening with this timeless tradition.

Afternoon Tea

Since its creation in England in the early 1800's by Anna Duchess of Bedford, afternoon tea has long been associated with the entertainment of society. Naturally, New York society's doyenne and St. Regis matriarch, Caroline Astor, adopted this tradition as her own. Today, this ritual comes alive at The St. Regis Washington, D.C. where guests are invited to the hotel's grand lobby from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. for an experience beyond expectation. Enjoy delectable pastries and tea sandwiches inspired by the season, a luxurious selection of tea from Palais des Thés and optional Champagne pairings. Afternoon Tea is available daily from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Reservations are required. $55 per person

Live Jazz at The St. Regis Bar

Surround yourself with the soothing sounds of live jazz music in an extraordinary setting. While enjoying the performance, indulge in our selection of handcrafted seasonal cocktails and world class international cuisine in the iconic St. Regis Bar. Live Jazz takes place every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday in The St. Regis Bar from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Sunday Brunch

Enjoy the Capital's quintessential Sunday Brunch in a historic and convivial setting, complemented by soothing live Jazz. Enjoy a delectable menu of traditional brunch favorites, a chilled seafood station, an exquisite dessert bar and optional bottomless Mimosas and Bloody Marys. Your favorite brunch items, prepared to perfection. Sunday Brunch is available every Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and priced at $69 per person, or $89 per person with beverage package.

Bloody Mary History

In 1934, famed barman Fernand Petiot perfected his recipe for a vodka and tomato juice cocktail at The St. Regis New York’s legendary King Cole Bar. Serge Obolensky, a well-known man about town, asked for the vodka cocktail he had enjoyed in Paris, which Petiot spiced up with salt, pepper, lemon, and Worcestershire sauce. Originally christened the “Bloody Mary,” the cocktail was ultimately dubbed the “Red Snapper” so as not to offend the hotel’s refined clientele. While the latter name may not have lasted, the beloved Bloody Mary remains the signature St. Regis cocktail. It can still be enjoyed under the watchful eye of Old King Cole, depicted in Maxfield Parrish’s iconic mural.

Each St. Regis hotel has crafted their own, locally-inspired rendition of the traditional Bloody Mary. The ritual is executed daily at The St. Regis Washington, D.C. in the St. Regis Bar as well as during Sunday Brunch

The St. Regis Washington, DC’s is the Capital Mary, inspired by the commercial and cultural heritage of the nearby Chesapeake Bay. Its base is gin, the spirit of choice of the city’s social set, particularly when cumbering around the bay. For seasoning, the cocktail incorporates signature spices used in preparing a classic Chesapeake crab feast.

  • This resort is for those seeking to completely disconnect and relax, as it as a very quiet and tranquil property

About the Hotel

Gili Lankanfushi Maldives is a short 20 minute boat ride from Male International Airport. It is a tiny coral island in a sparkling lagoon, with jetties threading across the water out to spacious villas. Everywhere you look, marine life abounds. And the gleaming waters beckon.
Concept The forty-four stilted villas plus the vast Private Reserve uphold the philosophy of Intelligent Luxury. They are crafted in a traditional style from natural materials and offer roof-top and over-water sundecks, featuring open air bathrooms, sumptuous daybeds and a personal entertainment center. For ultimate privacy, we have seven Crusoe Residences that are only accessible by personal boat. Come ashore for some great dining and equally great wines or perhaps a romantic moonlit dinner delivered right to the villa. The possibilities are endless.
The interior decoration has been devised to recreate a natural habitat, using sustainable woods, natural materials and traditional fabrics, whilst still offering all the modern day amenities and creature comforts of true luxury. At Gili Lankanfushi we are very sensitive to the environment. The utmost care has been taken in developing the island with respect to its ecological balance.

Meera Spa

A sanctuary of scented bliss, our Meera Spa sits in a secluded bay and is sprawled across languid waters.
This holistic haven includes six over-water treatment rooms, an Ayurvedic Treatment Champa, steam and sauna rooms and an open-air relaxation area offering breathtaking views. A seaside yoga and meditation champa, where you can salute the sun come dawn or dusk, lies not too far away.

BEST OF THE BEST

As if in a dream, the tiny coral island of Gili Lankanfushi appears along one of the loveliest lagoons in the Maldives. The 45 stilted villas float surreally above the luminous waters; for total seclusion, seven Crusoe Residences are accessible only by boat or pontoon. There?s a full PADI diving school and plentiful watersports; at the oversea Meera Spa, the lapping waves are as healing as its ages-old therapies. Among the many dining options is an underground wine cellar, accessible by glass staircase, and their signature restaurant By the Sea has a new teppanyaki grill.

LUXWT Review

By LUXWT Staff

It is not often you arrive at a luxury hotel in the Amalfi Coast, or anywhere for that matter, and are greeted personally by the owner. From the moment you step foot on the property, you know you are at your new home away from home.

This is a newer hotel but has been been in the family for quite some time. The owner and her family grew up coming to this place all throughout their life. Once the Father passed away, they decided to turn it in to a place where people from all around the world could come and feel right at home and admire the incredible location and views.

LOCATION:

This hotel is situated right in between Positano and Praiano. Essentially a perfect location if you want to visit the Amalfi Coast. Since there are many cities along the coast people want to visit, this place is the perfect home base. They offer a FREE shuttle to/from Positano and Praiano. It runs all day long and you can call the front desk and they usually will have the shuttle ready for you in minutes.

ROOMS:

Each luxury room at this hotel are different and unique. All rooms are equipped with the best views you could possibly imagine, it truly is a slice of paradise. We had room 501, with picturesque views of the city of Praiano and the Sea. After receiving a tour of the room, we were informed that the owner essentially hand-picked all of the decor (custom from Venice) and had a major role in designing the architecture of the hotel. Best part of the rooms: OUTDOOR SHOWER (most incredible way to shower), SOFTEST robes, and the ultra comfortable Simmons mattress.

SPA:

One of the cool parts of this luxury hotel is that there is an indoor and outdoor pool. Located right near the indoor pool is the Spa. When you come to this hotel, you MUST book the Massage- ask for the air suspension massage. They take you outdoors to the private massage area with a beautiful view of the sea. During the massage, your limbs are suspended in the air held by cloth for more stretching and massage techniques—very unique but incredibly relaxing!

OUTDOOR POOL:

After touring and walking through Positano and Praiano, the outdoor pool is the perfect place to come to relax. You are greeted with the pool attendant and taken to the comfy loungers while being offered a drink. While the pool isn’t large, it is nice for relaxing and taking in the most spectacular views.

BREAKFAST:

If you are looking for one of the best views in the house, then come to breakfast on the patio. They have a wide selection of pastries, fruit, juices, toast, cereal, eggs, meats, and yogurt. It is continental style so you choose what you want then bring your plate to your table with a STUNNING view of Positano. You can also order other items for extra-such as Eggs Benedict, French Toast, etc. Another alternative option would be to order breakfast to your room for a small charge.

Overall, this hotel truly embodies luxury with the most relaxed feel. The staff are the warmest and most helpful people. If you need anything the concierge will go above and beyond. If you are traveling to the Amalfi Coast, make sure you check out this beautiful hotel.

LUXWT Prime Review

By Nalani Cayme @nalanicayme

Four Seasons Las Vegas is an oasis amid the hustle and bustle of the city. Located at the southern end of the Strip, travelers seeking a break from the wildness of Vegas can simply head over to Four Seasons to lounge poolside in spacious cabanas, enjoy a world-class massage at the W Spa or indulge in mouthwatering cuisine at the Veranda.

From the time you step out of your vehicle, you feel like royalty. The staff are warm and accommodating, and they go above and beyond to ensure your stay is nothing less than perfect. The hotel grounds are stunning, so be sure to take a walk around and stop by the outdoor sitting area next to the pool. On a sunny morning, it is the perfect place to chat with friends or read the newspaper.

With its truly magnificent Italian cuisine, the Veranda will transport you from Las Vegas to the heart of Italy. Ask for a table outside, and enjoy the beauty of the pool and the palm trees. During the day, the restaurant is lively and filled with families and friends. At night, the Veranda transforms into a more intimate setting, perfect for date night. For seafood lovers, the Polpo Alla Griglia is an absolute must, and for dessert lovers, the hot chocolate soufflé melts in your mouth.

The W Spa is perfect for those in need of some R&R. Enjoy the steam rooms, treat yourself to a five-star massage or get a mani-pedi with friends. The staff ensures you leave the spa feeling rejuvenated and ready for your night out on the town.

The highlight of our stay was the Strip-View Suite. Equipped with chic and high-tech furnishings, the room was nothing short of luxurious, and the floor-to-ceiling windows in both the living room and bedroom offered unparalleled views of the city.

From the stunning views to the beautiful grounds, Four Seasons Las Vegas is nothing short of magical. We absolutely loved our time at the hotel and look forward to staying there again soon.

LUXWT Review

By Team LUXWT

Above all else, the level of service we experienced was exceptional. From check in the staff was careful to remember every detail of the reservation as well as specific preferences. I asked about yoga in the spa and shortly after I had a note from the spa with the details of the yoga experience along with a hand-written note. The hotel is located in the perfect area, right in the middle of all of the shopping and restaurants. Just step outside and you have hundreds of options for food, drink, and fashion. Everything you need is right there. Step inside and you are in a world of luxury, from the Christian Louboutin store in the lobby, to the Michelin star restaurants, and exceptional suites.  The rooms are spacious and comfortable with every possible amenity at your fingertips. The staff are exceptional on following up with any inquiry you may have. I had a little glitch with the Wifi initially, and within minutes the hotel IT staff was at my service to connect all devices himself.  The rooftop pool area has epic views of all of Barcelona, amidst chill music and excellent Peruvian cuisine choices. Not your typical Spanish food, but an international flair. Great for vegetarians and meat lovers. A perfect place to watch the sunset with drink in hand and just chill out. If you come for a special occasion, apartment style suites are a must, with full rooftop terraces and various bedrooms and entertaining areas. This hotel is very special.  The spa is wonderful with a fitness center open 24/7, for those that find themselves unable to sleep at odd hours. The steam room is scented with Eucalyptus and herbs and is perfect for relaxing after a long flight or big day on the town. I can’t stress enough how wonderful the service was. We cant wait to return!

What we loved: Location was ideal, service from the staff was exceptional, rooms were so comfortable and clean, and rooftop pool deck is a must visit for tapas, drinks, or just pool lounging time.

LUXWT Prime Review

By LUXWT Staff

After a long red-eye flight that landed at 5 am, I was very tired and eager to rest my head. I knew check in wasn’t until 3pm but I ended up calling the Seagate Hotel at around 7 am. The front desk staff were so gracious and told us to come to the hotel and they would try and accommodate an early check-in. Right when we arrived we were greeted by the most friendly bell-hop and he took our bags from us and escorted us to the front desk. They ended up finding a room for us and we were able to check in at 7:30am! Now that is service. We instantly knew we were in for a good stay.

Our room was a deluxe King and was probably the most spacious hotel room I have ever stayed in. The décor was very sophisticated yet subtle luxury. The bed and pillows were very comfortable and I slept so well each night. Inside the room were a mini bar that was fully stocked, snacks for purchase, and a complimentary Keurig with a variety of coffee flavors. Such a nice touch!

One of my favorite things about this hotel was the beach club. The Seagate beach club is about a mile away, right on the ocean. You can either walk to it or the hotel has a few really nice Cadillac Escalades that will drive you to it. All you have to do is go to the lobby and request a ride and usually they are ready to take you within minutes! The first day we got to the beach club we ate lunch right on the patio overlooking the ocean. The food was tasty and the service was top notch. We then walked out to the ocean but it was a little chilly so we ended up just hanging at the hotel the first day. The next day was warmer weather so we hit up the beach club first thing and ended up spending the day lounging at the beach, and the pool that is also at the beach club. They give you four complimentary towels and there are PLENTY of beach chairs. There are also rent-able non-motorized water sports at the beach too. AND they offer pool and beach side food and drink service.

Back at the hotel, they do have an onsite pool and Jacuzzi. Which is really nice if you want somewhere to lounge without having to walk or take a ride to the beach club. They also offer poolside food and drink service. Along with the pool, there is a gym and spa located on-site. I ended up getting a facial and it was excellent. The spa is very warm and relaxing. Again, the staff is so friendly and genuine. They offer you a robe and really nice sandals to wear around the spa. There is a steam room, showers, and couches to lounge in.

Another plus to this hotel is the location. It is really close to so many different shops and restaurants that are all within walking distance. If you don’t want to walk around, or can’t walk too far, the hotel offers complimentary driving service in the Escalade within a 3-mile radius. The hotel is right on Atlantic Ave which is a very lively street with TONS of restaurants and shops. The nice thing about the hotel is that it is towards the end of all the action so it doesn’t get too loud.

Overall, the Seagate is a wonderful luxury boutique hotel with AMAZING staff, lots of activities to enjoy, great food, and an excellent choice for relaxation. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to recharge and enjoy a nice vacation in Delray Beach!

About the Hotel

At The Seagate Hotel & Spa, your every need has been carefully considered long before you arrive in our lobby. All hotel rooms and suites come well equipped with little luxuries like robes and slippers, iHome docking stations, a mini-bar, and Gilchrist & Soames bath products.

Twice-daily housekeeping not only keeps your room tidy, but also provides surprising touches like chocolates and a purple orchid at turndown. We’ll even deliver your choice of one of six different newspapers each morning.

Looking to stay in shape during your stay? The Seagate’s two fitness centers (one at the hotel and another at the Seagate Country Club) have you covered. Classes range from water aerobics to Zumba, as well as yoga classes for both young and old. Get in some laps at one of the property’s three pools. Or, unwind at the Spa in one of two steam or tranquility rooms.

There’s no shortage of options for dining, either. Six different venues offer a menu for every palate. Enjoy fresh seafood as you gaze at the ocean. Sample the inventive cuisine and eclectic décor of the Atlantic Grille. Or, pick up some lighter fare to take along to the beach.

Whatever you want to do, or wherever you want to go, we’ll make it easy for you. Two Cadillac Escalades and the signature Seagate trolley stand ready to provide complimentary transportation between Seagate properties, or anywhere within a three-mile radius of the hotel.

The Beach Club

When you stay at The Seagate Hotel & Spa, you instantly become a member of an elite and privileged group of beachgoers. LUXWT Prime Review

By Emily Eisenberg

Well I have certainly been spoiled now. Staying at the Little Nell was beyond a luxurious experience.

Nestled at the foothill of Aspen Mountain, the hotel is situated in an unbeatable location with breathtaking views of the mountainous landscape.  Although the outward views are unbeatable, the decorative detail within the hotel is immaculate. The cozy atmosphere makes you immediately feel like you are in the comfort of your own home, or a home you wish was yours!

What made the stay even more exceptional was the attentive staff that felt more like old friends with their warm and genuine care. They were proactive with every need, with no detail missed from warming up our towels and robes, to whipping up some delicious hot chocolate for a mid-night snack.

This amazing hotel has a separate gourmet pet menu! They also supply dog beds and can plan a stay around pet-friendly activities! This takes dog friendly to the next level!

At this boutique hotel it is not only the human guests that are treated with the best service, its man’s best friend as well! While having a snack in the lobby I noticed a waiter bring over a plate of food, and then put it down for a dog. I then noticed most of the tables around me had dogs with their own dishes sitting alongside their owners. It turns out the Little

The exceptional service is no secret about The Little Nell. However, I was lucky enough to be let in on their best kept secret, the “invite only’ wine cellar tasting room! It’s home to about 20,000 bottles of the finest wine from around the world, some that share a price tag on par with a car! I soaked up every descriptive detail our incredibly knowledgeable master Sommelier explained in hopes of expanding my wine knowledge beyond what the movie “Sideways” had previously taught me. With fun sing-along music playing, delicious fine cheeses laid out, and every sip of wine tasting better than the next, this was an experience I felt lucky to partake in.

Although I could wine and dine all day, I made sure to take advantage of what nature had to offer as well! Most people visit Aspen in the winter for the ski season, however, the summer and fall are my favorite time to be in Aspen because the hiking is incredible! With the help of the concierge, we were able to plan out the best hikes for the weekend and the Little Nell even provided transportation to and from! The must do trail is Maroon Bells, where entire time we felt like we were walking through a postcard. The colors and contrast of the Aspen trees on the crystal blue water and the snowcapped mountains was breathtaking.  We also took a ride up the Gondola, which were only a few footsteps from the hotel. It goes to the top of Aspen Mountain where you get an aerial view of Aspen Village and the views of all the surrounding mountains. Needless to say, it was gorgeous and very worthwhile.

It will be hard going to the mountains and not staying at The Little Nell every time. As I said before, I have now been spoiled!

If you come to carve a name for yourself on the slopes, our Ski Concierge team will be alert to your whims. Ski and snowboard guests will enjoy access to once-in-a-lifetime on-mountain experiences, such as skiing on the mountain before it opens, learning to drive a snowcat, snowcat powder tours and sweeping the mountain at day’s end with Aspen Mountain Ski Patrol. Meanwhile, adventures off the mountain are many and varied, and can be arranged by our hotel Concierge team. And families will never be at a loss for kid-friendly, laughter-inducing adventures. Winter Adventures are exclusive to guests of The Little Nell, Residences at The Little Nell and The Limelight Hotel.

MAUNA KEA BEACH HOTEL

Waimea | HAWAII

LUXWT Review

by Haley Plotkin

The Mauna Kea Beach Hotel is a 5-star hotel located north of Kona on the Kohala Coast of the Big Island of Hawaii and is part of Marriott’s Autograph Collection. The property features 252 rooms and suites, and is on the beautiful Kauna‘oa Beach, one of the top-ranked beaches in Hawaii. One of the highlights of the hotel is the Manta restaurant, which features beautiful outdoor dining with views of the beach for breakfast and sunset for dinner.

When I was being given a tour of my lovely ocean view room, I was told that Laurance S. Rockefeller, who founded the hotel in 1965, picked the location for the beach. And wow, what a beach! There’s no doubt about it that is is one of the best beaches in Hawaii. Rockefeller also decked out the hotel in an amazing Pacific and Asian art collection, with over 1600 pieces featured around the property.

I had the opportunity to spend 2 nights in an ocean view deluxe room, which had an amazing balcony view of the beach, a bathroom with its own balcony (and a view of the ocean even from the bathtub), L’Occitane products, and a large walk-in closet. The view from my room was probably the best part of my entire stay (the balconies felt very private as well), barring the amazing sunsets I witnessed each night on the beach.

I also had the opportunity to play a round of golf on the luxurious Mauna Kea Golf Course. The course features a signature hole, number 3, where you are challenged to hit a long par 3 shot over the ocean, and many scenic vistas across the course. The course is very hilly, with many elevation level changes and raised greens, and a ridiculous amount of bunkers on every hole. Between the wind and sand traps and constant blind shots, it was one of the most challenging courses I’ve ever had the pleasure of playing, and also one of the most beautiful, with amazing views of the ocean and Maui’s mountains in the distance.

The hotel is currently celebrating its 50th anniversary.

A True Oasis within Bustling Bangkok. The Siam, the brainchild of acclaimed master of resort architecture Bill Bensley, is an idyllic sanctuary within city limits. Upon arrival it felt like we had discovered the secret garden, with a new surprise waiting around every corner. Every inch of the grounds has it’s own striking touch from the open-air gardens where you can spot a Goliath Birdwing Butterfly, to the well-curated Siamese antiques decorating the halls; No detail is amiss.

The infinity pool overlooking the Chao Phraya, River of Kings defines luxurious city living. Beyond the gorgeous make-up of this hotel, the service was notably outstanding. We arrived late on a Friday, jetlagged and feeling like it was morning at midnight. The hotel graciously accommodated us throughout the night by serving us a very late night private dining meal poolside. Our vacation could not have gotten off to a better start!

The food was incredible, some of the best Pad Thai we ended up having during our entire Southeast Asia trip. Not to mention the delicious Mojitos that we couldn’t get enough of! We also took advantage of many of the hotel’s amenities. By beginning the day with a bubble bath in our glorious private bathroom of dreams, I swear I felt renewed in body, mind, and spirit. We were then greeted by the general manager, Jason Friedman, who brought us to the gorgeous Opium spa and graciously introduced us to the art of the traditional thai tattooing Sak Yant by master Arjan Boo. Although we did not get a tattoo, we were quite tempted to take part in the sacred art and tradition.

The afternoon was well spent riding the Siam’s private boat along River of Kings, a very convenient and posh way to see the city’s skyline. We ended our stay with a swim in the gorgeous infinity pool, and seriously wish our stay never had to come to an end. Having had this experience, I vow to not go back to Bangkok without staying in these walls. I am counting the days until I get to go back to the Siam.

With only two cooking stations per class, enjoy a truly immersive Thai cooking experience that will leave you with amazing memories to take home.

Upon returning to The Siam, you will cook and then enjoy three delicious dishes of your choice.  Whether you are a first timer or a seasoned chef, you will never forget cooking under a traditional Thai teakwood house, overlooking the Chao Phraya River.

Our private cooking classes are available with or without the local market tour.

Loews Vogue Hotel, in Montreal, is located almost at the corner of Sainte Catherine Street, which is like New York´s 5th Avenue, with the best shops and designer labels, major theaters and fine restaurants. This goes to show that this hotel sits in a very fancy neighborhood. The façade and interior of the lobby of the hotel follows this glamorous style, it is truly exquisite.

In addition to this prime location, Loews has its own restaurant, La Societé. Very charming, with tables on the terrace. And of course, with an impeccable structure, the hotel also offers a fitness center for guests.

The suites are huge and of very good taste in a unique and modern decoration. Some decorative objects allude to Vogue magazine. A large living room with flat screen tv, a comfortable and large sofa, fridge and coffee maker composing the area. The bedroom has a ing size bed, fine curtains and another big flat screen TV. A small touch of love and care given by the employees: at night they leave the bed ready for sleep and a bottle of water on the nightstand.

For me, the washroom is the star of the gorgeous suite. Beautiful and spacious, fine amenities, a comfy and elegant robe, a small TV with remote control, and a big round bathtub with jets. It was the perfect place to relax and leave aside a few moments to take care of myself and immerse in tranquility.

Loews Vogue is a very sophisticated hotel, with a perfect location and impressive service, tailor made for people who doesn’t give up good taste and glamour while traveling.

About the Hotel

The beautiful Loews Hotel Vogue Montreal, situated in a vibrant area of downtown galleries and boutiques, is 1 block from rue Ste-Catherine, 2 blocks from the Bell Centre, and 3 blocks from the Museum of Fine Arts.

Corporate travelers will appreciate 24-hour access to the Loews business center, equipped with a PC, high-speed Internet access, a color printer, and a copier. Secretarial and translation services are available during business hours (fees apply). The property boasts 13 meeting rooms. In addition, complimentary wired and wireless Internet access is provided throughout the hotel.

When the day's business is done, guests can visit the hotel's gift shop. La Société Bistro provides guests with Parisian-inspired ambience and cuisine.

Away from the bustling lobby, guests are assured of security and privacy by elevators that require room key-cards to operate.

La Société Bistro

Here at Loews Hôtel Vogue, you’ll find one of the finest restaurants in Montréal. La Société Bistro artfully blends Parisian flair and cuisine with North American contemporary style. Enjoyable evenings unfold here around fabulous meals. The plush, modern bistro features an immense hardwood bar and a spectacular stained-glass dome ceiling that lights up the restaurant’s interior.

Popular local chef Gilles Tolen serves up bistro-inspired cuisine from fresh, local, top-quality ingredients—offering an oyster bar, a wide assortment of hors d’oeuvres and seafood platters to share.

Nestled within the rolling hillside outside of Chiang Mai sits the Four Seasons Resort is seamlessly integrated into the stunning natural landscape. Upon arrival, we watched the sun sink over the picturesque Suthep mountain range while we were were greeted with welcome drinks, cleansing hand towels, and wreaths of Jasmine flowers.

The meticulously designed hotel has the utmost attention to nature with stunning landscaping and views overlooking the working rice fields, mountainous landscapes, and tropical greenery. Guests can enjoy these views from their private villas or the verandas that cascade down the mountainside leading to two infinity pools. The aesthetics are truly remarkable. This is a place to appeal to all senses, as you can hear the birds chirping while smelling the flowery aroma from the expansive gardens, making this hotel more like an idyllic sanctuary than a resort.

Beyond the beautiful aesthetics, our palates were also pleased. We were able to enjoy an Italian dinner at the terrace restaurant, and had an authentic Thai in-room dining dinner on our private villa pavilion while sitting on our swinging chair overlooking the gorgeous grounds. The food was mouth-wateringly delicious and the attentive service was impeccable.

We found it difficult to remove ourselves from the pool during the day, since the two infinity pools were some of the nicest, and most refreshing swimming experiences I have had experienced to date.  However, we were glad we found time to participate in some of the on-site activities. Our favorite was the hands on learning of how to grow rice. The hotel provided a very educational experience where we were able to wear traditional rice-planting outfits. We even planted and picked our own rice!  While it was enjoyable it also made us appreciate the rice that we had on our plates each day.

We loved our stay at the Four Seasons in Chiang Mai, and can’t wait to get back!

About the Resort

SPA

Step into the Spa at Four Seasons Resort Chiang Mai and enter a luxurious temple of harmony for body, mind and spirit – an indulgent sanctuary created exclusively for your pleasure and well-being.

The concept of social harmony is very important – from consideration for others to maintaining one’s own equilibrium. Traditionally, the Thai social system is arranged into six distinct groups: Servers, Farmers, Craftsmen, Noblemen, Royalty and Monks. Each group is recognised for its own unique beauty, wisdom and humbleness, and offers many gifts to the wider society.

LUXWT Prime Review

By Mario Del Duca

What’s your definition of luxury? If it’s being in a secluded eco-friendly place on the edge of an outstanding beach with the Caribbean breeze airing your room and very friendly staff ensuring that you make the most of your visit, then the seven room Casa de las Olas in Tulum is your type of luxury! A member of the Afar Magazine hotel collection, Casa de las Olas brings a new perspective on how to ensure guests enjoy Tulum and the surrounding area. We had been to Tulum several times before this trip but, a short while into our stay here, we felt that we had never been before! Previously we had kept to the main strip adjacent to the beach and the local Tulum ruins but a key part of the Casa de las Olas experience is the assistance the staff provide in helping see new places and experiencing places that perhaps your average visitor to Tulum does not get to see.

We received some fantastic recommendations that made this a memorable trip - the restaurants that we visited were excellent and, because a community seems to naturally form with staff and other guests, some of your experiences in Tulum may be with a group of new friends. We particularly loved this about Casa de las Olas as it was very new to us and, from a hotel point of view, it definitely worked! We never thought we would ever go on a bird-watching trip with an incredibly experienced guide and friend of Casa de las Olas but we did so with other guests and enjoyed it very much. Casa de las Olas is on the southern edge of Tulum and is the last property before the protected biosphere of Sian Ka’an making it very quiet but also an excellent spot to enjoy an empty beach and the biosphere from. The building is one of the oldest in the area but is very well-designed with the palm trees providing a natural green canopy and harnessing the breeze to make the rooms airy and therefore there is no need to switch on the air conditioning either during the day or at night.

In fact Casa de las Olas is very environmentally friendly with all electricity coming from solar panels on the roof and water from a cenote (sink-hole) that is situated at the back of the property. In fact you can also swim in the crystal clear denote to cool down after a day in the hot Caribbean sun! Breakfasts are cooked and served by the charming Lulu who seems to have become an institution when it comes to serving excellent meals at Casa de las Olas. We particularly liked the fact that the food is all locally sourced and organic and, if you’re lucky and you plan to just stay on the beach on one of your days, pray that you have fish tacos for lunch! Everyone eats at a community table which is a great opportunity to get to meet other travelers and hear about their stories and where they have been or are planning to go in the Tulum area. This table is where it all comes together - friendships are forged and adventures are planned.

We wanted to eat at the famous Hartwood restaurant but couldn’t get a table even though we thought we had tried every channel to do so but the staff came to the rescue and, not only did they get us a table, but they joined us for a memorable experience. As we’re internationally renowned foodies (own words!) our only regret was not being here for the twice-yearly “Eat Retreat” which is a week-long food fest which Casa de las Olas organizes with Tulum’s top chefs. Oh well, we will have to plan another trip! Switch off your cell phone, take off your shoes and relax at Casa de las Olas! Who is Casa de las Olas ideal for? Eco-aware travelers looking for a community feel.

About the Resort

Casa de las Olas is a boutique, 7-suite bed and breakfast tucked away along a private stretch of pristine beach in Tulum, Mexico. Casa de las Olas only accepts reservations in advance (they do not encourage walk-ins), thus ensuring that their guests privacy is absolutely paramount. Priding themselves on their personalized approach to hosting their guests - whom are considered and treated as friends rather than clients, they attract a set of like-minded travelers who continue returning to their slice of paradise year after year. Due to their environmental consciousness and location, they cater to a group of forward-thinking, eco aware travelers that are ahead of the curve.

ARCHITECTURE

With a structure designed over 40 years ago, we are one of the oldest properties on Tulum beach. Casa de las Olas was intentionally built to capitalize on natural Caribbean breezes keeping our villa and property cool and comfortable without the use of air conditioning.

ENERGY CONSUMPTION

Casa de las Olas is powered completely by a state-of-the-art solar panel system. We only use a generator on cloudy days (and there aren’t many!) when we are unable to harness the incredible power of the sun.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONSCIOUSNESS

At Casa de las Olas everything from our cleaning products to bathroom amenities are organic and biodegradable. All food provided is locally sourced from family farms and carefully handpicked to ensure the freshest and ripest ingredients are chosen for our guests.

PLATINUM LEED REVIEWED

We are the only Platinum LEED reviewedproperty in Mexico. A LEED certification is recognized across the globe as the premier mark of achievement in green building and a Platinum Rating is the highest certification that can be attained.

WASTE MANAGEMENT

We strive to eliminate all types of waste by following the 3 R’s of sustainability: Reduce, Reuse & Recycle. We utilize a grey water filtration system for our villa and all of our kitchen & organic waste are composted onsite and used to feed our natural vegetation.

WATER CONSUMPTION

Casa de las Olas was built to capture underground water sources while also having multiple rain collection systems. The water from our well is used for the villa's showers and gravity fed from our roof. We use our rainwater to revitalize, maintain and reproduce indigenous plants vital to the surrounding ecosystem.

LUXWT Prime Review

By Emily Eisenberg @Eisenbee

With the perfect mix of antique and modern, you feel you are stepping back in time as you enter the Victoria Angkor. The 1930s inspired architecture gives off the impression you are in a place with deep history and roots within the town of Siem Reap.

As we walked in, we were greeted with cold towels to wash our hands, along with a cocktail of our choosing. This was just the start to the impeccable, and attentive service we experienced during our stay.

By far my favorite feature of the hotel was the salt water pool. I find these are rare to come by, and definitely a treat I didn’t want to leave. I could have stayed floating all day if it weren’t for the draw of all of the Angkor temples! The pool is surrounded by jungle greenery, and drinks were available to order poolside, always a plus!

The location of the hotel was unbeatable, only a short ride into town, where we thoroughly enjoyed the night scene of Pub Street and the night markets. The front desk graciously arranged for our transport to and from.

We asked for the hotel to help arrange our tour for the Angkor Temples, and I am so happy that we did. They arranged a top notch tour guide, William, who we were beyond impressed with. William is a trained photographer, so not only did he get the perfect pictures of us, he helped us get the perfect pictures of the sites we were seeing! He was also a great teacher, able to keep us engaged, which was no easy feat! We were so impressed with William and all we learned on our tour, I would recommend him to anyone going to Siem Reap!

Staying at the Victoria Angkor Resort was a great decision, and I would go back in a heartbeat.

About the Hotel

Victoria Angkor Resort & Spa is a Five Star hotel in the heart of Siem Reap that reminds us the wellbeing, elegance and refinement of the French Lifestyle.

Its design is inspired by the 1930’s colonial architecture. Located in the city center, in front of the “Royal Park” and completely immersed into its natural environment, our resort is few minutes away from the Old Market, 7km from the Siem Reap International Airport and 6km from the Angkor Temples.

SPA

Delight and relaxation, thanks to a selection of traditional massages using essential oils, within our Spa or in the dedicated spaces of our tropical garden.

BEST OF THE BEST

Located in the heart of the old French district of Siem Reap, in front of the Royal Garden, Victoria Angkor Resort & Spa is an iconic Five Star hotel, inspired by the 30’s colonial architecture. Only few minutes away from the animated centre of the city, feel welcome in an oasis of peace and warmth.

Arty and authentic, featuring 120 rooms and 10 suites, each one inspired by the history of the former Indochina, our hotel is meant to be a meeting place for local artists, a retreat for diplomats, nature lovers, writers, romantic tourists or nostalgic from an old French Art de Vivre. Take a walk around the garden, rest on a sunbed around the swimming pool, relax in our open-air Jacuzzi, and spoil yourself in our Spa or during a gastronomic dinner at Le Connaisseur, our French fine-dining restaurant.

Featuring a French colonial style, with dark woods and an architecture creating an oasis of calm and serenity, Victoria Angkor Resort & Spa is an iconic hotel, at the gates of Angkor wonders.

LUXWT Prime Review

By Emily Eisenberg- @Eisenbee

The Four Seasons, Koh Samui is a dream. I will start by saying that this hotel is more beautiful than words can truly give justice.

From the second we turned into the grounds, our jaws were dropping.  We happened to pull in as the sun was setting, casting the perfect light onto the Gulf, and shadowing the surrounding islands into sunset colored silhouettes. This is the kind of view and beauty that inspires a mural.

On our golf cart trip to our villa from the main lobby, it was pointed out that the entire hotel is built into the hillside, giving each room an unobstructed view of the ocean.

When we walked into our villa, we couldn’t help but pinch ourselves. We had our own private infinity pool, with a bottle of complimentary champagne waiting for us.  From the drapery over the bed, to the standalone tub with a view of the ocean, we felt like we were royalty.

The only thing that got us to part with this incredible villa was the lure of the spa. We pampered ourselves with massages, and as if timed, right as the massage began, a rainstorm rolled in. Talk about relaxing. We were walked back to our villa with umbrellas, where we sat and watched the storm come in over the gulf from our private balcony. This was one of the most serene, and rejuvenating experiences of my life.

I am counting the days until I can make my way back here. Thank you Four Seasons Koh Samui!

About the Resort

Escape to the pristine luxury of white sandy beaches surrounded by lush tropical greenery. Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui is the perfect place to discover the idyllic bliss of Thailand’s island life, whether from a private outdoor deck overlooking the ocean, the aqua-inspired interiors of a plush residence perched on the hillside, or the turquoise waters of an infinity pool.

ACCOMMODATIONS

At Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui, Thailand, experience island perfection in your private hillside luxury villa, shaded by coconut groves and overlooking the mystical Gulf of Siam.

Your chic, al fresco living space comes complete with a private infinity pool and astonishing panoramas of Laem Yai Bay, Koh Phangan and the Gulf of Thailand.

DINING

At Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui, experience a gourmet paradise, where abundant varieties of fish and exotic herbs are coupled with Thailand’s sophisticated culinary traditions.

Koh samui SPA

For generations, Thais have planted special herbal gardens: hidden havens of wellness inspired by trusted family remedies. The Secret Garden Spa draws on the wisdom of these ancient traditions. Sheltered from the bustle of busy cities and hectic schedules, it’s a sanctuary of purity devoted to healing body and being. Welcome to nature’s nurturing embrace.

Stop. Breathe. Relax.

Enter paradise through an enchanted stone-stepped pathway, fringed by breezy coconut palms, stately banyans and indigenous herbs. At The Secret Garden Spa, we combine the tranquility of our surroundings with the pure natural goodness of plants grown right here at the resort.

Hydrating, nourishing coconut features prominently, and many treatments include poultices made from a unique blend of herbs—a ‘secret’ mix of lemongrass, turmeric, tamarind, ginger and more that helps relieve pain, ease inflammation and stimulate blood circulation. Each treatment begins with a heavenly foot cleansing ceremony: a homemade blend of coconut oil, jasmine rice and milk powder scrubs away fatigue, followed by a spritz of fragrant kaffir lime essential oil.

LEISURE AND ACTIVITIES

Take advantage the natural beauty surrounding the Resort with a range of water-based activities that includes snorkelling, scuba diving, reef fishing and even a private boat cruise. On our beautiful white-sand beach with shade-lending palm trees all around, guests can relax and take in spectacular views of distant islands and the Gulf of Thailand, or take advantage of an extensive selection of beach activities.

BEST OF THE BEST

Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui takes you away, offering a divine escape on the coast of the mystical Gulf of Siam. You'll stay in spacious villas or expansive residences with alfresco living space and infinity pool-views of the neighboring islands and coconut groves. Start your day in paradise with yoga, a fitting way to reflect on the surrounding beauty. Enjoy spa treatments — perhaps a healing ritual in a sala treatment room or a massage on a shady beach. Train in a Muay Thai ring, high atop the isle. Savor the afternoon tea at Koh Thai Kitchen; lounge at the new beach bar, Cocorum; and feast with a unique experience like Infinity Dining.

LUXWT Prime Review

By Joseph Diaz @j2thefresh

I’ve died and gone to heaven, no wait I’ve entered in to the wonderful world of the Grace Hotels.

The Grace Santorini is an award winning majestic oasis picture perfectly placed in the Greek village of Imerovigli. Throughout the 22 rooms of the hotel, the fresh and elegant design touches invoke calm, luxury and intense pleasure. The views are scintillating and spectacular, sexy and sophisticated.

Prior to arrival The Grace exudes a warm welcoming attention to detail with their Online Bespoke Service. Here guest can select between a varieties of In-Room Fragrances, Natural Shower Gels, Apivita branded toiletries and my absolute favorite a detailed Pillow Menu. Along with the Online Bespoke Form, your travel itinerary is kindly requested in order to arrange luggage assistance and transfer to the hotel.

Check-In was a breeze. Literally. Soaking it all in on the sun kissed terrace adjacent to the lobby overlooking the Aegean Sea, we were greeted by the Grace team, and flutes of champagne for our satisfaction.

The champagne doesn’t stop in the lobby; we were delighted to find an in-room complimentary bottle of bubbly accompanied by a delectable platter of fresh fruit. Rooms, Suites and Villas are decked out with King Size beds, flat screen Plasma TV’s, CD/DVD players, fully stocked mini bar, air-conditioning, Nespresso machine.

Rooms are romantic recluses, with heated personal plunge pools. Outdoor terraces from the cliffside rooms allow for astounding views of the Aegean Sea, the Caldera, and the eye catching Skaros Rock. If your not admiring the grand views, or swimming in the oversized infinity pool, you’re admiring the extraordinary service provided by Dimitri, Olga and the rest of the staff at the Grace Santorini.

Dining at The Grace is an experience just as spectacular as the views that accompany it. Meals are served on poolside tables on the sun terrace. Champagne breakfast is daily until 11AM. We’re talking about warm freshly baked breads, and homemade jelly & jams and traditional Greek pastries. Every morning the chef creates a delicious menu with recommendations of egg and/or pancake dishes. Fresh fruit smoothies and desserts are also made fresh every morning.

Chef Agious’s multi-course dinner degustation menu is not to be missed. Uniquely flavored dishes like Sea urchin, raw beetroot and garlic sprouts, to the succulent seared octopus, deep fried polenta and lime truffle honey dressing. Everything on the menu is top notch. Chef Spiros Agious, brings his appealing, artistic, approach to Greek fine dining. Evening dinners are best scheduled with Santorini’s spectacular sunsets. For a more romantic setting, the two infinity edge poolside caves with accent LED lighting are a great choice.

Ultimately, The Grace is the upper echelon, crème de la crème of luxuriousness when it comes to hotels in Santorini. From remarkable views to outstanding service, its no wonder The Grace has been awarded Best Boutique Hotel in Greece. Undeniably, in a league of its own, The Grace is your one and only selection when visiting Santorini.
