LUXWT Prime Review

By Emily Eisenberg @Eisenbee

A True Oasis within Bustling Bangkok. The Siam, the brainchild of acclaimed master of resort architecture Bill Bensley, is an idyllic sanctuary within city limits. Upon arrival it felt like we had discovered the secret garden, with a new surprise waiting around every corner. Every inch of the grounds has it’s own striking touch from the open-air gardens where you can spot a Goliath Birdwing Butterfly, to the well-curated Siamese antiques decorating the halls; No detail is amiss.

The infinity pool overlooking the Chao Phraya, River of Kings defines luxurious city living. Beyond the gorgeous make-up of this hotel, the service was notably outstanding. We arrived late on a Friday, jetlagged and feeling like it was morning at midnight. The hotel graciously accommodated us throughout the night by serving us a very late night private dining meal poolside. Our vacation could not have gotten off to a better start!

The food was incredible, some of the best Pad Thai we ended up having during our entire Southeast Asia trip. Not to mention the delicious Mojitos that we couldn’t get enough of! We also took advantage of many of the hotel’s amenities. By beginning the day with a bubble bath in our glorious private bathroom of dreams, I swear I felt renewed in body, mind, and spirit. We were then greeted by the general manager, Jason Friedman, who brought us to the gorgeous Opium spa and graciously introduced us to the art of the traditional thai tattooing Sak Yant by master Arjan Boo. Although we did not get a tattoo, we were quite tempted to take part in the sacred art and tradition.

The afternoon was well spent riding the Siam’s private boat along River of Kings, a very convenient and posh way to see the city’s skyline. We ended our stay with a swim in the gorgeous infinity pool, and seriously wish our stay never had to come to an end. Having had this experience, I vow to not go back to Bangkok without staying in these walls. I am counting the days until I get to go back to the Siam.

PRIVATE THAI COOKING CLASS

With only two cooking stations per class, enjoy a truly immersive Thai cooking experience that will leave you with amazing memories to take home.

Join our Chef for an optional excursion by Tuk-Tuk to the local fresh market for a first-hand look at the remarkable produce available here in Bangkok’s Old Town.

Upon returning to The Siam, you will cook and then enjoy three delicious dishes of your choice.  Whether you are a first timer or a seasoned chef, you will never forget cooking under a traditional Thai teakwood house, overlooking the Chao Phraya River.

Our private cooking classes are available with or without the local market tour.
