LUXWT REVIEW

If you are accustomed to staying at luxury hotels, you start to notice the small details that each hotel offers. I would say the Acqualina does an exceptional job at making sure every small detail is met with excellence. We stayed in the Oceanfront 1-Bedroom Suite which was luxurious, spacious, and perfect for all types of travelers. The size of the room amazed me—a full sized kitchen, living room, 1.5 baths, master bedroom and a convertible den with a twin bed and desk. Also, if you are looking for a large bathroom—this is the place. The on-suite is complete with rain shower, jacuzzi tub, double vanity and all the amenities you need to find relaxation without even leaving your room. The best part of the room was the oceanfront view from the master bed, is there anything better than waking up to the beautiful aqua water and white sand?

One of the many spectacular aspects of this resort is the variety of amenities provided for guests of all ages. For kids, they have pools, activities on the beach, marine biology classes, soccer and basketball. For adults looking to relax, there is an ‘adults only’ area complete with a pool, hot tub, and cabanas. Other accommodations include: beachside service, several restaurants, and an amazing Spa. I was able to experience a massage at the spa and it was fantastic. The spa offers a healthy menu of options to provide relaxation for their visitors, including a steam room, sauna, and pools—each helping to provide a 5-star experience.

The beach at Acqualina is excellent, as there is direct beach access from the hotel—a very unique feature in Miami. On top of all the things to do at the beach, having luxurious chairs and oceanfront service is what separates any five-star hotel from its peers. The beach attendants were very attentive to all their guests needs, going above and beyond to make the experience comfortable and relaxing. The oceanfront Costa Grill provides a menu of sandwiches, burgers, and salads along with a full list of cocktails and drinks.

Overall, our team would recommend Acqualina to anyone traveling to the Miami area. It is the perfect blend of luxury and family friendliness. The hotel staff was incredible, as they always went above and beyond to ensure that guests’ needs are being met. The location is perfect, as it is outside the business of South Beach, but close enough to attractions that are within walking and driving distances. There is a reason guests keep coming back year after year!

Acqualina Resort & Spa is an award-winning Forbes Five Star, AAA Five Diamond property situated on 400 feet of pristine white sands. The resort’s unobstructed views create a unique, sea-level experience as the lush green gardens effortlessly succumb to the sand. Here, guests enjoy expansive amenities, including three oceanfront swimming pools; three restaurants, including Il Mulino New York; a tranquil ESPA Spa; and a marine-biology-inspired kids’ program. The resort's opulent room design is inspired by the surf and sand, along with the Atlantic Ocean and Intracoastal views that captivate guests as they enter their accommodation.

SUSTAINABILITY

We educate hotel guests (adults and children alike) about local wildlife and the importance to be environmentally conscious through our many educational and experiential programs including a sea turtle experience in collaboration with Miami Dade County Sea Turtle Conservation Program, monthly wildlife encounters led by expert animal trainers and a marine biology based program offered at the AcquaMarine Children’s Center.

Furthermore, Acqualina provides avocado straws in the outdoor restaurants through a partnership with Naked Straw who donates a percentage of all net proceeds to environment charities. These straws are made from agro-waste, avocado pits and significantly reduces carbon footprint.

Water is used in guestrooms, spas and swimming pools, as well as in non-guest areas for laundries, cooling systems and irrigation. Our focus will remain on reducing water consumption in non-guest areas, where we can make the greatest impact.
